Visionary Semiconductor (VSemi) is a Waterloo, Ontario–based high-tech company specializing in advanced 3D sensors and 3D sensing solutions.
As the company reached a new stage of steady growth, there was a need to strengthen its brand recognition and establish a more distinctive visual presence within the competitive technology sector. The team approached me to design a new logo and develop a comprehensive brand identity system that reflects its innovation-driven positioning.
Approach
Before initiating the design process, I worked closely with the company’s marketing team to align on strategic direction. We agreed to retain elements of the original logo while transforming “VSemi” into a more distinctive and recognizable wordmark.
To further define the brand’s identity, I proposed introducing a brighter, more dynamic colour palette. In contrast to the typically subdued branding of the semiconductor industry, this approach aimed to help VSemi stand out while conveying energy, innovation, and growth.

The identity system was implemented across corporate communications, digital interfaces, and marketing materials, ensuring consistency and scalability across all touchpoints.
Campaign
I led the design direction and provided visual design support for VSemi Inspiration Day 2022, creating a cohesive suite of assets including the event logo, flyers, brochures, roll-up banners, and sign-in cards. The event was highly successful.
